Great Scott

This morning the film world woke to the news that Tony Scott, director of True Romance and Man on Fire, has died having committed suicide from a bridge in San Pedro.  Though it's always sad to read of the untimely death of someone that sadness is greater whenever the person has been responsible for moments of pleasure in a career that at it's best was the pursuit of entertainment in it's truest form.

Whatever troubles you were facing are now behind you, rest in peace.  You will be missed.

I feel really bad about his suicide. He had such a nice body of work. The Last Boy Scout is one of my favorite movies. RIP

Agreed, the combination of Scott's all out direction and Shane Black's script made it rampant fun. The manner of his death when you consider his diagnosis shows you the man wasn't just single minded and fearless in his career. Hats off to a talent and a loss. A Tony Scott marathon is forming in the DVD player for this weekend.
