Doing It For Themselves: Lacy & Veronica On IndieGoGo

A while back we were bemoaning about the state of Hollywood cinema and the poor representation of women (in general) and women of ethnicity (in particular) [http://www.knifedinvenice.com/2012/01/ladies-who-are-more-nitty-gritty-than.html?m=1].

Though the situation in main stream cinema hasn't really changed (with the exception of The Heat) the independent cinema scene is picking up where the studios have dropped the ball.

Ashli Haynes (Way Down in Chinatown) and Jessica Koucouthakis (Comedy on the Rocks) have teamed up with Emmy nominated director J. Kevin Swain to deliver an indie Rom-Com for all women everywhere!

Lacy and Veronica Crash a Wedding sees two friends strapped for cash and on a mission to get to a wedding in time to steal the groom (and Lacy's ex) back and create the kind of contemporary "happy ever after" deserving of two modern independent ladies.

The film is currently in the middle of its IndieGoGo campaign for funding so if you're an independent cinema lover or simply bored of never being represented on the silver screen drop by and give a few dollars: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/lacy-veronica-crash-a-wedding

Filming is taking place at the Canal Club in Venice, CA. So if you're in the area why not drop by. Check out the films Facebook, Twitter, not to mentions Ashli's for details and don't forgive to pony up a few bucks to help Lacy and Veronica crash that wedding.
